Over the next few days I will be hanging out with some pastors and talking about strategic planning. We prepared for the next few days by reading Simple Church. I'm really looking forward to this time. I expect this will be an opportunity for all of us to be challenged in the way we plan and implement change in our churches.
This is a really big passion for me. I love to be at the forefront of change and I like having conversations with people that have a direct impact on our future. Change is one of those things that God calls us to every day and there is really nothing more exciting to me than partnering with Him in His change initiatives… both for our organizations and in our lives!
One of the things I love about Canyon Ridge is the way we do planning cycles. Every year we plan for the next 18 months. We gather to glean learnings from the past year and then move forward with both individual and church-wide initiatives.
I'd love to hear some thoughts on how you do planning and implementing. What is God calling for you to change?
